Michael Derin, Azure Group's Founding Partner & Chairman has over 28 years' experience as a qualified Chartered Accountant within the business and commercial sectors. Michael works across our Technology, Corporate Advisory and CFO operations, managing highly complex projects to success.
Michael Derin has over 28 years of experience as a Corporate Advisor and more recently CEO across Asia-Pacific with a track record of leading multi-million dollar projects to success.
Michael’s technical and commercial acumen, as well as his dynamic leadership style, has seen him influence positive outcomes through strategic decision making for his clients and his firm.
In 2002 Michael founded chartered accounting firm Azure Group, a commercially focused firm that now has offices in Sydney, Austrlaia and Shanghai, China. His passion for innovation and his ability to quickly adapt to the changing needs of business has allowed Azure Group to expand its range of services and business interests.
Michael has been a pioneer in the Virtual CFO movement in Australia founding CFO Australia Consulting in 2005 offering part time and interim strategic financial solutions for growing business.
Michael is also the Lead Corporate Advisor at independent advisory firm Verde Group, which sees him exercise his commercial aptitude by assisting with large scale mergers and acquisitions, sales, IPOs and numerous other corporate advisory and strategic initiatives.
Some of his most noted achievements to date include delivering prompt growth status for the start up on the Leasing division of Compaq Financial services throughout the Asia Pacific. CFO and Corporate Advisor with Oxley Corporate Finance, managing various corporate finance deals including a half-a-billion dollar property trust for the government and investors. In the political domain, he acted as an Advisor to the Department of Housing Australia on their property portfolio, and to the Department of Defence on their property portfolio.
He was the Financial Advisor and Company Secretary on the government Board of Greater Sydney Partnership Pty Ltd and has been a Lead Advisor on business acquisitions, sale and merger transactions, including being instrumental on the sale of group buying platform Spreets for $40 million to Yahoo!7, the sale of healthcare retail chain Platinum Earcare, the demerger of Tabcorp Holdings and the sale of NDC Automation to Dematic, to name a few.
He is a Board member of The CEO Magazine as well as Not for Profit The Ocean Agency and is a Director and secretary for a number of international companies.
